Don't end up like that Rod Stewart
A cracking Rod story to celebrate my new chapbook on the man himself
This week, I am launching a work on Rod Stewart that I am pretty proud of on Sorrento Books. It’s called Dear Rod…An Apology, and deals with an interview I conducted with him in 1984.
But first, a cracking Rod story.
Back in the day, I used to live next door to a very dear friend, name of Keith J. Keith worked in an office and next to him sat a man who grew up on the same street as Rod.
Even back then Rod had a bit of a name as a tearaway - as they called them in those days.
In fact, Rod’s reputation was such that every afternoon, the boy’s mum would come home and say to him, ‘Have you done your homework yet?’ And the boy would reply, ‘No.’
The mum would then exclaim, ‘Well, get upstairs and do it now. I am not having you end up like that Rod Stewart down the street.’
